Dwayne Dunn is free to ride at Flemington on Saturday after winning his appeal against a careless riding suspension.
Dunn appeared before the Racing Appeals and Disciplinary Board on Monday to fight a 10-meeting penalty imposed upon him at Sandown last Wednesday.
Racing Victoria stewards had found that Dunn permitted his mount Forever The Chill to shift in near the 1000m when not sufficiently clear of Sparks Burn in the Hyland Race Colours Handicap (1400m), resulting in that gelding being tightened for room and checked.
Stewards said the incident qualified for the low-range category of carelessness.
However the Board ruled Dunn had no case to answer.
“It’s a good result. It’s rare that it happens,” he said.
Dunn’s mounts on Saturday include VRC Sires’ Produce Stakes runner-up Decircles in the Group Two Danehill Stakes (1200m) and last-start Moonee Valley winner Zaira in the Group Two Let’s Elope Stakes (1400m).
He has also been engaged for dual Group One winner Response who resumes in the Group Three Bobbie Lewis Quality (1200m).
